OBIEE10g step by step installation


1.      Go to the below link and download OBIEE10.1.3.4.X




2.      Go to the Oracle_Business_Intelligence -> setup.exe and double click on setup.exe file

3.      Click on “Next” and you will get the below window
4.      Default it will install in the “OracleBI” folder. If you want to change the location, you can select the other location where you want and Click on “Next
5.      Select the which setup we need OBIServer or OBIPresentation Server or OBI Client Tool or Complete. Here we are selecting Complete and click on “Next”
6.      Install the JDK and select the JDK path in as shown in the above screen and give the oc4jadmin password and click on “Next
7.      Click on “Next
8.      Select the language for presentation error message. Default language is selected as “English” and click on “Next
9.      Click on “Next”, it will install all the components
10.    Once 100% is successfully completed then “Next” button will enable. Click on “Next” then it will take to the below screen
11.     Here we can see the OBIEE application is installed successfully and also it will say how to start oc4j manually
12.     Finally select “Yes, restart my computer” option and click on “Next”. All the OBIEE components will available once the system is restarted

Interaction between 2 reports in Tableau


Step I : Create 2 reports in individual worksheets.
Step II: Add 2 reports into a single dashboard page.
Step III: Provide interaction between 2 reports using Actions in Worksheet Menu.

Step I :
1.       Create first report : 
a.       Drag and drop Product Category from Dimensions into Columns
b.      Drag and drop Sales from Measures into Rows
c.       Drag and drop  Product Category into Color
d.      Drag and drop sales into Label
e.      Add Region, Product Category and Product Sub-Category in Filter
We can see the Product Category by Sales report as shown in the below screen

2.       Create second report:
a.       Drag and drop Product Sub-Category from Dimensions into Columns
b.      Drag and drop Sales from Measures into Rows
c.       Drag and drop  Product Sub-Category into Color
d.      Drag and drop sales into Label
e.      Add Region, Product Category and Product Sub-Category in Filter
We can see the Product Sub-Category by sales Report as shown in the below

Step 2: Add 2 reports into single dashboard page
Create new Dashboard page and add these 2 reports into dashboard page
Step 3: Provide interaction between 2 reports using Actions in Worksheet Menu
a.       Go to Worksheet Menu and click on Actions
Then it will open one window as shown in the below screen, Go to Add action -> Filter and click on OK
 
b.       then it will open below screen. Select the “Select” option as shown in the below screen and click on OK
 
Then it will display the screen as shown in below and click on OK

Here we are selecting the “Furniture” Category in First report, it is filtering the Furniture            Category Data in second Report.
 

Calculation Proof :
1. Furniture category Sales amount is 5,178,591 in first report
2. Furniture category Sales amount is 822,652+698,094+1,761,837+1,896,008 = 5,178,591 in Second report

MAP view in Tableau

Step I: Import data into Tableau
Step II: Create sample report and click on maps(Symbol or filled)
In Tableau we are having 2 types Maps
1.       Symbol Maps
2.       Filled Maps

Symbol Maps: It will display the symbol based on measure values
Filled Maps:  Map will displays the based in dimension values
Step I: Import the below sample data into Tableau



Step II: Create sample report :
1.       Drag and drop state filed from Dimension into Columns
2.       Drag and drop Sales field from Measures into Rows
3.       Click on any one of the maps (Symbol Maps or Filled Maps)

I.                 Suppose if we clicked Symbol maps then it will display the screen as shown in below
 
Here we applied the color on State filed.
 
How to apply Color on state field:  Just drag and drop State field from Dimensions into Color in the Mark Section(in left side pane)
 
II.               Suppose if we choose Filled maps then it will display the map as shown in below
We can do the Map view in Online or Offline modes in Tableau. The above screen are refers to Online Mode. 
If we want to do the same maps in offline, Go to the Map -> Background Maps  -> Here we can select the online or offline modes
